Diminished accuracies are to be expected in areas of dense vegetation. The accuracy of the LiDAR data as tested met the vertical accuracy or better, however, derived products may be less accurate in areas of dense vegetation due to a lesser number of points defining the bare-earth in these areas. result: (missing) report: (DQ_CompletenessCommission) nameOfMeasure: Completeness Report evaluationMethodDescription: Complete result: (missing) report: (DQ_ConceptualConsistency) nameOfMeasure: Conceptual Consistency evaluationMethodDescription: None result: (missing) lineage: (LI_Lineage) statement: (missing) processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: Lidar data processing by the collection firm and MNDNR varied for each data set. A copy of the original documentation for each record may be found here: https://noaa-nos-coastal-lidar-pds.s3.amazonaws.com/laz/geoid18/1196/supplemental/index.html dateTime: DateTime: 2011-06-06T00:00:00 processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) downloaded topographic files in .laz format from Minnesota's website in May, 2012 . The files contained lidar elevation measurements. The data were received in UTM Zone 15N, NAD83 coordinates and were vertically referenced to NAVD88 using the appropriate Geoid03 or Geoid09. The vertical units of the data were meters. OCM performed the following processing for data storage and Digital Coast provisioning purposes: 1. The topographic laz files were converted from a Projected Coordinate System (UTM Zone 15N) to a Geographic Coordinate system (NAD 83). 2. The topographic laz files' horizontal units were converted from meters to decimal degrees. 3. The topographic laz files' were converted from NAVD88 elevations to NAD83 ellipsoidal elevations using Geoid03 (Southeast, Red River Basin,Crow Wing County,Wright County, Chisago County, Pine County) or Geoid09 (Blue Earth County,Central Lakes,Twin Cities Metro,Arrowhead). 4. If Classes 13, 17, 18 (Unknown) existed in the data, they were converted to Class 0 (Never Classified). 5. If Classes 14, 15 (Bridges) existed in the data, they were converted to Class 1 (Unclassified). dateTime: DateTime: 2013-04-01T00:00:00 processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: The vertical values in this data set have been converted to reference North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) (GEOID18) meters, using the GEOID18 grids provided by the National Geodetic Survey. Any datum and projection transformations were then done with the Office for Coastal Management 'datum_shift' program. Compression to an LAZ file was done with the LAStools 'laszip' program and can be unzipped with the same free program (laszip.org) Processing notes: dateTime: DateTime: 2023-07-01T05:46:23 processor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: NOAA Office for Coastal Management contactInfo: (CI_Contact) address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: coastal.info@noaa.gov role: (CI_RoleCode) processor |
