These data were collected by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration National Geodetic Survey Remote Sensing Division using a Riegl VQ880G system. The data were acquired from 20170216 - 20170220. The data includes topobathy data in an LAS 1.2 format file classified as unclassified (1), ground (2), noise (7), bathymetric point (26), submerged object (29), and International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) S-57 object (30) in accordance with the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) classification standards. This data set may also include lidar intensity values and encoded RGB image values.

This data set is an LAZ (compressed LAS) format file containing LIDAR point cloud data.
This lidar data are an ancillary product of NOAA's Coastal Mapping Program (CMP), created through a wider Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping initiative to increase support for multiple uses of the data. It is not intended for mapping, charting, or navigation. In addition, it will be used for ongoing research efforts for testing and developing standards for airborne lidar.
We request that you credit the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) when you use these data in a report, publication, or presentation.

Data include all lidar returns. Outliers or false returns (e.g., returns from birds, atmospheric particles, and/or system noise) may be present in the data. An automated ground classification algorithm was used to determine bare earth point classification. It should be noted that not all returns were correctly classified; therefore the user should examine for acceptability.

Horizontal Positional Accuracy
The data positions were obtained using post processed KGPS methods. The horizontal accuracy of the data is better than plus or minus 1.0 m.; Quantitative Value: 1.0 meters, Test that produced the value: 1 Sigma
Vertical Positional Accuracy
The data positions were obtained using post processed KGPS methods. Data used to test the lidar was collected with Static GPS Observations and compared against the published data. The vertical accuracy of the data is better than plus or minus 0.15 m.; Quantitative Value: 0.15 meters, Test that produced the value: 1 Sigma
Completeness Report
Data covers the 1690 tiles (500m x 500m tiles).

Data were processed to an initial LAS format using the Riegl RiProcess software. The Applanix POSPac software was utilized for GPS and inertial processing, and GeoCue, Terrasolid, and LP360 software for data visualization, 3D editing, and export to final LAS file. Data were processed in NAD83 horizontal and vertical datum.

The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) received files in las format. The files contained lidar elevation and intensity measurements of the Florida outer keys block4. The data were in UTM Zone 17 coordinates and ellipsoid elevations in meters. The data classifications for the data are: unclassified (1), ground (2), noise (7), bathymetric point (26), submerged object (29), and International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) S-57 object (30) CM performed the following processing on the data for Digital Coast storage and provisioning purposes: 1. Converted from UTM Zone 17 to geographic coordinates 2. Sorted by gps time 3. Compressed the data using laszip

Lidar
The vertical values in this data set have been converted to reference North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) (GEOID18) meters, using the GEOID18 grids provided by the National Geodetic Survey.
Any datum and projection transformations were then done with the Office for Coastal Management 'datum_shift' program. Compression to an LAZ file was done with the LAStools 'laszip' program and can be unzipped with the same free program (laszip.org)
