Elevation Datasets at NOAA Digital Coast

Below are links to lidar point cloud datasets available in the NOAA Digital Coast, followed by a table for digital elevation models (DEMs). Users that need access to the full datasets in compressed point cloud LAZ format should use the ftp or https links. Please be patient after clicking a link as there may be thousands of files. For customized lidar data products or to do a geographic search, please use the Digital Coast Data Access Viewer (DAV) or the links to the DAV below, particularly if you don't need the full dataset. Within the DAV, use the draw tool to subset the data.

All datasets linked under the https columns in the first table are point clouds in LAZ format (a compressed LAS file; laszip is a free decompression tool). The EPT column gives links to the data in streamable entwine point tiles (EPT) format and the Potree column has links to view the EPT format data in a browser using Potree.

A Spatio-Temporal Asset Catalog (STAC) for all the datasets available in EPT format can be found at EPT catalog.json. The STAC column here has catalogs for each dataset referencing the COPC LAZ version of the data.

The point cloud metadata column may have multiple entries. The "InPort Ellipsoid Metadata" reflects the data before a geoid model was applied. The "ISO Metadata" reflects the data found in the "Bulk Download" link. The InPort version has better human readability.
